What One Piece Fans Must Learn Ahead of Egghead Part 2

Shaka reveals Dr. Vegapunk’s theories and speculations about the Void Century in Chapter 1066. Despite working for the World Government, Vegapunk repeatedly defies their orders by delving into this forbidden era.

His pursuit of knowledge drives him to continue his dangerous research, even after witnessing the destruction of Ohara. Although the government funds his work, Vegapunk faces betrayal from an unexpected source—his own clone.

York, embodying greed, turns against Vegapunk in hopes of gaining favor with the World Government. She dreams of becoming a Celestial Dragon and justifies her betrayal by claiming there should only be one Vegapunk.

Her actions set the stage for Egghead’s tragic events, as the island faces imminent destruction. However, York underestimates the danger she poses to herself, holding secrets the World Government would prefer to keep hidden.

Aware of the risks tied to his research, the original Vegapunk anticipated betrayal. His plan to uncover the secrets of the Void Century reflects his understanding of the World Government’s corruption.

While York’s betrayal aligns with her nature, Vegapunk’s foresight suggests he may have prepared countermeasures. Fans eagerly await how these events will come to light in the arc’s continuation.

The Gorosei Display Hidden Strength

The Gorosei, long regarded as mere advisors, reveal themselves as formidable fighters during a confrontation with Sabo and King Cobra. Their abilities, shrouded in mystery, suggest they possess Devil Fruits with immense power.

Observers speculate their transformations hint at Zoan-type Devil Fruits, potentially linked to Imu. Fans anticipate learning more about their true nature in future episodes.

Imu’s influence likely enhances the Gorosei’s strength, suggesting they might play a larger role in upcoming events. Their possible interference in Vegapunk’s defiance adds another layer of tension to the storyline. As the anime progresses, these enigmatic rulers may emerge as a threat to the Straw Hats and their allies.

York’s Betrayal Sets the Stage for Conflict

York’s actions could prompt another Buster Call against Egghead. While the Straw Hats have survived such challenges before, a direct confrontation with the Navy’s full force would test their resilience.

The trailer hints at Admiral Kizaru’s involvement, signaling intense battles ahead. Fans are eager to see how the crew explores these dangers and continues their journey.

Jewelry Bonney’s Connection to Kuma

One of Egghead’s most surprising revelations is Jewelry Bonney’s identity as Bartholomew Kuma’s daughter. Her time on Egghead sheds light on her grievances with Vegapunk, whom she blames for her father’s fate. The evolving story raises questions about their connection, hinting at more mysteries yet to be explored.

Anime-only viewers are particularly intrigued by Bonney’s backstory and her ties to Kuma. Despite their established presence in the series, their familial relationship caught many off guard. Kuma’s tragic transformation into a mindless servant for the World Government adds further depth to his character.

Egghead Arc Holds Exciting Prospects

The Egghead arc has quickly become a favorite among fans, offering both answers and new mysteries. As anticipation builds for future episodes, viewers reflect on Vegapunk’s research and the revealing saga.

The decision to delay certain episodes may have sparked debate, but it ensures the next chapter receives the attention it deserves.

One Piece Explains the Power of Buster Calls

The recurring message in One Piece emphasizes that no organization is purely good or evil. The marines, while serving as protectors against pirates, also act as enforcers for the oppressive Celestial Dragons.

Despite their public image, they conceal truths and can be as harmful to civilians as they are protective. The Buster Call, a mechanism for large-scale destruction, exemplifies this duality.

Although intended as a covert operation, it is widely known among marine personnel. Though only three instances of Buster Calls are shown in the manga, their use demonstrates the marines’ willingness to employ such force when deemed necessary.

One Piece reveals the complicated nature of the marines, where protection often masks darker truths hidden from the public (Photo: Marine Leaders/Toei Animation)

Nico Robin’s Role in Buster Calls

Robin has been central to every depicted Buster Call, with each event tied to the mysterious Void Century. The destruction of Ohara, Enies Lobby, and Egghead Island highlights the marines’ repeated failure to fully achieve their goals.

These events have also defined the principles of the original admirals, whose actions during the Buster Calls reflect their distinct approaches to justice.

Unlike other marine operations, such as Kizaru’s attack at Sabaody, Buster Calls adhere to specific protocols recognized within the marine hierarchy.

Buster Call Protocols and Command

The authority to initiate a Buster Call is limited to 10 of the World Government’s highest-ranking officials, including admirals and the Five Elders. This privilege can be delegated to lower ranks via the golden Den Den Mushi, though such delegations are rare.

Cipher Pol agents, despite not directly managing Buster Calls, have been involved in all known instances. These operations, executed with extreme force, deploy five vice admirals and ten battleships, targeting islands with no possibility of withdrawal until the mission’s conclusion.

The Ohara Incident: A Devastating Misstep

When the scholars of Ohara uncovered secrets of the Void Century, the World Government labeled them a threat, prompting a Buster Call. Though Akainu and Aokiji participated as vice admirals, their actions highlighted a moral divide.

Akainu’s ruthless destruction of evacuation ships contrasted with Aokiji’s decision to spare Robin, setting the stage for future conflicts between the two. While the operation succeeded in destroying the Tree of Knowledge, Robin survived alongside key texts, undermining the government’s aims.

Enies Lobby: A Repeat of History

The mission at Enies Lobby sought to rectify the perceived failures of Ohara by executing Robin. However, the Straw Hats’ intervention and Spandam’s blunders complicated the plan. Although Aokiji provided Spandam the golden Den Den Mushi, the operation was disorganized, resulting in delays and internal conflicts.

Nico Robin’s ties to Buster Calls highlight the tragic consequences of the marines’ pursuit of their vision of justice (Photo: Nico Robin/Toei Animation)

The Straw Hats thwarted the mission, rescuing Robin and Franky while gaining new bounties. The marines’ actions not only failed but also led to the destruction of Judicial Island.

Egghead Island: A Larger-Scale Operation

The Egghead Island Buster Call marked the most ambitious operation to date, involving nine vice admirals and an unprecedented number of ships. Unlike previous calls, this mission was overseen by a member of the Five Elders.

Despite the increased firepower, the marines were unable to eliminate their targets. Vegapunk managed to disseminate critical information, while the Straw Hats escaped with valuable allies. Though Vegapunk appeared to die, his legacy and knowledge persisted.

Buster Calls and Their Repercussions

Each encounter with a Buster Call strengthens the Straw Hat crew’s resilience while exposing flaws within the World Government. These operations, intended as demonstrations of marine strength, instead reveal vulnerabilities and erode the confidence of both civilians and marine forces.

The recent destruction of Lulusia Kingdom suggests the government may be seeking alternatives to Buster Calls, given their continued failures. What remains clear is the growing disillusionment within the marines, as these brutal tactics cast doubt on the righteousness of their cause.

The Rich Legacy of Fish-Man Island’s Royal Family in One Piece

Distinct in their structures and ideologies, the royal families of One Piece stand out. Although the Straw Hat Crew embraces their pirate identity, they have formed strong alliances with several of these families and often collaborate with princesses.

Among them, Shirahoshi emerges as the most formidable princess, despite never officially joining the crew as Nefertari Vivi once did. Her family, particularly the Neptune Family, plays a crucial role as allies committed to the welfare of their people, striving for equality among fish-men and other underwater species.

They face challenges posed by the corrupt Celestial Dragons, yet the Neptune Family prioritizes the well-being of their community above all else.

Shirahoshi’s strength shines as a formidable ally of the Straw Hat Crew (Photo: Straw Hat Crew/Toei Animation)

Various influential figures have championed the cause of freedom for fish-men, each with distinct visions for achieving it. The most famous among them is Fisher Tiger, a former slave who transformed into a pirate and dedicated his life to liberating others from bondage, regardless of their species.

He founded the Sun Pirates, welcoming many lost fish-men who needed assistance. His legacy persists through figures like Jinbe, Arlong, Hody Jones, and Koala the Revolutionary.

While their beliefs diverge, Fisher Tiger’s influence remains profound within the royal family of Fish-Man Island, and each individual upholding his legacy has a unique relationship with the family.

King Neptune: A Larger-Than-Life Presence

Towering over his subjects as a giant coelacanth merman, King Neptune embodies a vibrant personality that matches his stature. Although he is known for his impulsive decision-making, such as ordering the arrest of the Straw Hats, his motivations stem from a desire to protect his people.

Neptune’s unconventional yet innovative thinking has helped him better understand the crew, at the end leading him to become their ally and trust them with the safety of his island, aided by Jinbe’s membership in their ranks.

Otohime’s Vision for Peace

Historically, the acceptance of fish-men on the surface is a recent achievement, as they have faced oppression and exploitation for slave labor. The Celestial Dragons have long denied their humanity.

Otohime, a goldfish mermaid, dedicated her life to advocating for her people’s right to experience the sun above. She tirelessly promoted the idea of peaceful coexistence and collaboration with humans. While her ideals often clashed with those of Fisher Tiger, they shared mutual respect.

Her vision finally influenced individuals like Donquixote Mjosgard, swaying him toward the belief in equality between species. Otohime’s efforts culminated in securing the first representation for Fish-Man Island at Reverie.

The Legacy of Tragedy: Otohime’s End

However, the momentum toward acceptance faltered after Fisher Tiger’s passing, as many of his former crew members succumbed to heightened anger against humans.

Arlong exacerbated this resentment among younger fish-men, while Hody Jones took drastic measures, murdering Otohime and framing a human for the crime.

Despite Hody’s actions, Otohime’s call for peace persisted, leaving her children and Jinbe to carry forward her message and protect Shirahoshi. Otohime’s ideals live on through her offspring, who are determined to uphold her legacy.

Fukaboshi: A Determined Leader

Fukaboshi, the shark merman and presumed heir to Fish-Man Island, consistently demonstrates unwavering dedication to his people. He has made promises, such as vowing to fulfill his mother’s wishes at her funeral and taking on the responsibility of conveying Jinbe’s message to Monkey D. Luffy.

Known for his serious demeanor, Fukaboshi embraces the weight of leadership, committing himself to become a warrior for both Shirahoshi and Fish-Man Island. His protective instincts toward his sister are fierce, though he strives to consider all perspectives before reaching conclusions.

Ryuboshi: The Joyful Prince

While Ryuboshi may not receive as much attention as his older brother, he remains actively engaged in family events throughout the Fish-Man Island arc and Reverie.

Similar to Fukaboshi, he is deeply protective of Shirahoshi, a promise made by their mother that he takes to heart. As an oarfish merman, Ryuboshi is known for his playful nature, often expressing himself through song and dance.

He and Manboshi would sing and dance to soothe Shirahoshi during her childhood, a tradition that continued after Otohime’s death. Ryuboshi combines his joyous spirit with a readiness to fight when necessary for the sake of Fish-Man Island.

Manboshi: The Lively Youngest Prince

Manboshi, the youngest prince, shares similarities with Ryuboshi but exhibits even more exuberance. He readily bursts into dance, regardless of the situation. As an opah merman, he also enjoys singing, albeit not in scales like his brother.

Otohime’s dream of peaceful coexistence leaves a lasting impact on her people (Photo: Otohime/Toei Animation)

Like his siblings, Manboshi knows when to adopt a serious demeanor, having fought alongside them against the New Fish-Man Pirates. His spirited nature sometimes leads to reminders to maintain decorum, especially during tense moments like when Shirahoshi faced harassment from a Celestial Dragon during Reverie.

Shirahoshi: The Key to an Ancient Power

Similar to her father, Shirahoshi is a giant mermaid, though she is classified as a smelt-whiting. Much of her life has been spent isolated in a tower to shield her from Vander Decken IX.

Longing for freedom and the chance to see the world her mother envisioned, Shirahoshi yearns to promote her mother’s dream, just as her brothers do. Despite her fragile demeanor, stemming from her isolation and the overprotectiveness of her family, she displays bravery and a thirst for knowledge.

The Neptune Family: Guardians of Secrets

The Neptune Family’s connections trace back to the Void Century, granting them knowledge of world secrets that surpasses that of most others. They also had an encounter with Gol D. Roger during his quest for the last island.

These relationships place them in a precarious position regarding the World Government, which has little incentive to grant equality to their people. Additionally, Shirahoshi’s status as Poseidon presents even greater dangers.

Regardless of the risks, the Neptune Family has remained steadfast in their advocacy for their community, willing to forge alliances with pirates if it serves the best interests of Fish-Man Island. There are more to come.

The spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1135 are here, packed with intriguing revelations and fun moments. The chapter begins with a heartwarming cover story where Otama is now free, symbolizing her liberation and a fresh start.

In Elbaph, a massive owl named Biblo is introduced. He has eaten the “Iku Iku no Mi,” a Devil Fruit that allows him to enlarge objects. Biblo plays a key role in the Elbaph library, managing its vast collection with his unique powers.

Meanwhile, Colon, a new character, arrives at Walrus School. Colon is half-giant and half-human, born to Ripley, a giant mother, and a human pirate father known for his strength, said to rival that of a giant warrior. The giant kids dislike him for his rough and aggressive demeanor, and he shares the sentiment, considering them a nuisance.

Robin, Franky, Brook, and Jinbe join the rest of the crew in wearing Viking-style clothing, blending into the Elbaph culture. Franky expresses his desire to see the legendary Adam Tree, and Saul explains that while Adam Trees exist in different parts of the world, the one in Elbaph is the oldest and most revered.

In the castle of the village, a mysterious woman is seen with someone resembling Shanks. They confront two giant guardians while searching for someone named Loki. The chapter transitions to a lively party in the village, where the Straw Hat crew celebrates with the giants. Dorry and Brogy share the “Cups of Friendship,” a symbolic gesture of gratitude for the crew’s past deeds. The joyous atmosphere takes a shocking turn when Jarul arrives at the party with a massive sword embedded in his head. Luffy’s reaction is pure shock as he shouts, “Gramps, there’s a sword in your head!!”

No break next week! Stay tuned for the continuation of this thrilling arc.

One Piece: The Story Behind Fish-Man Island’s Royal Family

The royal families of One Piece showcase unique traditions and ideologies. Despite their reputation as pirates, the Straw Hat Crew has earned the trust of various royal families, often aligning with princesses in their quests.

Although Shirahoshi does not formally join the crew like Nefertari Vivi, she stands out as the most influential princess among their allies. The Neptune Family exemplifies commitment to their people, tirelessly striving for equality between fishmen and other oceanic species.

Although they face immense challenges due to the corrupt Celestial Dragons, their unwavering dedication to their community remains paramount.

Fisher Tiger’s Fight for Freedom

Numerous figures have championed freedom for fishmen, each with their distinct approach. Fisher Tiger, a former slave turned pirate, made a huge impact by liberating slaves of all species. He established the Sun Pirates and provided a haven for fishmen seeking camaraderie and purpose.

His legacy endures through figures like Jinbe, Arlong, Hody Jones, and Koala the Revolutionary, all of whom have unique ties to Fish Man Island’s royal family. Although their beliefs may diverge, Fisher Tiger’s influence profoundly shaped the island’s history and future.

Neptune: The King of the Ocean

As a coelacanth merman, King Neptune’s towering stature matches his commanding personality. While his impulsive decisions, such as arresting the Straw Hats, may seem rash, they stem from his deep concern for his people.

His unorthodox thinking allowed him to forge alliances, eventually entrusting the crew with safeguarding Fish Man Island. Unlike his late wife, Otohime, Neptune focused on preserving her vision and prioritizing the well-being of his children after her death. His knowledge of the Void Century and poneglyphs adds another layer to his cautious leadership.

Otohime’s Pursuit of Equality

Otohime, a goldfish mermaid, devoted her life to fostering peace between fishmen and humans, advocating for cooperation and coexistence. Her ideals often clashed with Fisher Tiger’s views, yet mutual respect existed between them.

Her influence extended to figures like Donquixote Mjosgard, who began championing equality. Tragically, her assassination by Hody Jones, who framed a human for the act, could not extinguish her message. Her children and Jinbe carry forward her dream, striving to protect Shirahoshi and achieve harmony.

Fukaboshi: A Leader in Waiting

Fukaboshi, a shark merman and presumed heir to the throne, dedicates himself to his people. Whether fulfilling his mother’s vision or delivering Jinbe’s message to Luffy, his commitment is unwavering.

Serious and responsible, he shoulders immense duties, including defending Shirahoshi and Fish Man Island. Despite his temper flaring when his sister is threatened, Fukaboshi consistently seeks fairness in his decisions.

Ryuboshi: The Spirited Prince

Ryuboshi, an oarfish merman, often blends music into his speech and actions. Alongside his brother Manboshi, he used song and dance to comfort Shirahoshi during her childhood, continuing this tradition even after Otohime’s death.

While his role in major events is less pronounced than Fukaboshi’s, Ryuboshi remains fiercely protective of his family and fights when necessary.

Manboshi: The Energetic Youngest Prince

Manboshi, an opah merman, exudes unbridled energy and enthusiasm. His penchant for singing and dancing often brightens tense moments.

Despite his lighthearted nature, Manboshi knows when to focus on serious matters, such as fighting the New Fish Man Pirates or supporting his siblings during critical times.

Shirahoshi: Poseidon’s Power

Shirahoshi, a smelt-whiting mermaid and the youngest in her family, possesses the immense power of Poseidon, granting her control over the sea kings.

Despite her fragile demeanor, shaped by years of isolation, she exhibits bravery and determination in spreading her late mother’s ideals. Protected by her family, Shirahoshi remains a vital figure in the quest for equality and harmony.

The Neptune Family’s Enduring Legacy

The Neptune Family’s deep ties to the Void Century and their association with figures like Gol D. Roger place them at odds with the World Government.

Shirahoshi’s status as Poseidon further complicates their precarious position. Despite these challenges, the family continues to fight for their people’s rights and collaborate with allies, even pirates, to secure Fish Man Island’s future.

One Piece: What Makes Gol D. Roger the Most Legendary Character in Shonen Anime

Among the most formidable figures to traverse the Grand Line, Gol D. Roger stands unrivaled, with even the mightiest Devil Fruit users acknowledging his superior prowess. His exceptional mastery of Haki eclipsed every display of Conqueror’s Haki witnessed within the shōnen.

Among living pirates, Shanks demonstrates a level of skill closest to Roger’s, to the extent of replicating his former captain’s renowned Divine Departure technique, a blend of advanced Haki and swordsmanship.

Roger’s legendary journey continues to inspire a new generation of pirates, igniting dreams of freedom and conquest (Photo: Roger of One Piece/Toei Animation)

Despite Shanks’ remarkable proficiency, his dominance on the seas does not yet rival that of Roger. With Luffy’s meteoric rise as a pirate, the possibility of surpassing the former Pirate King looms closer than ever.

Gol D. Roger and Luffy’s Parallels

Roger commands respect universally among pirates, an achievement unmatched by any other. The similarities between Luffy and Roger frequently lead others to compare the two. Roger’s ideals resonate strongly, encouraging even the strongest characters to place their trust in Luffy.

Shanks entrusted Luffy with Roger’s straw hat after hearing echoes of the Pirate King’s ideals in Luffy’s words, even sacrificing his arm to save the young pirate.

Silvers Rayleigh, impressed by Luffy’s pursuit of freedom over conquest, guided him, solidifying parallels between the two. Luffy’s journey mirrors Roger’s, crafting deliberate connections between their legacies for the audience and characters alike.

Roger’s Legacy and Free Spirit

As his legend grew, Gol D. Roger became widely known as Gold Roger, distancing his name from the family of D. and the story’s broader mysteries. His motives for embarking on his journey remain partially concealed, though his actions reshaped the pirate world.

After surrendering to the World Government, Roger transformed his execution into an unforgettable moment, sparking a new pirate era. Instead of succumbing to illness, his declaration during the execution inspired countless souls to chase their dreams on the high seas.

The final island he named Laugh Tale, and the treasure it held—likely left for his successor—symbolized a pivotal call to adventure in shōnen storytelling.

The Great Pirate Era’s Beginning

Roger’s fateful actions birthed a tumultuous era, where his motives continue to stir curiosity. Though the One Piece was initially perceived as a mere collection of his wealth, the narrative reveals deeper intricacies tied to Joy Boy’s legacy.

Laugh Tale became a symbol of laughter and wonder, demonstrating that Roger’s treasures and discoveries extended far beyond material riches.

By leaving his legacy open to interpretation, he ignited a pursuit that transcended individual desires, inspiring generations of pirates to go on their own quests.

Roger’s Actions and their Consequences

As explained by Rayleigh, the Roger Pirates uncovered the world’s hidden truths but refrained from disrupting the established order, leaving the task to future generations.

Shanks’ sacrifice for Luffy highlights the enduring connection to Roger’s spirit and the call to adventure (Photo: Roger of One Piece/Toei Animation)

Roger’s decisions reflected an understanding of his limitations and his intent to pass on his will rather than impose drastic change. Unlike a revolutionary, Roger’s focus was on exploration and freedom, culminating in his unparalleled journey across the Grand Line.

His title as Pirate King arose naturally from his accomplishments rather than personal ambition, setting him apart from those who sought to dismantle oppressive systems.

Roger’s Pursuit of Freedom

Roger and Luffy share a kindred spirit, prioritizing freedom and adventure over domination. Although Roger achieved unparalleled feats, his primary goal remained the freedom to live and die on his terms.

Even the World Government failed to dictate his actions or tarnish his legacy, as Roger personified defiance against authority. He embodied the aim of a true pirate, charting his course while inspiring others to follow their dreams without succumbing to societal constraints.

Roger’s Influence in Anime

Few characters in shōnen rival Roger’s mythic status, his name evoking reverence and awe. Comparable figures such as Madara Uchiha from Naruto may possess immense power, but Roger’s impact extends beyond sheer might.

His legacy creates a profound emotional resonance, elevating him beyond conventional character archetypes. His declaration before his death not only launched the premise of One Piece but also established him as a figure whose influence shaped the narrative and inspired generations of fans.

The Depth of Roger’s Legacy

Creating a character as enduring as Gol D. Roger requires extraordinary narrative skill. While Luffy drives One Piece as its protagonist, Roger exists as a symbol of freedom and inspiration, embodying ideals that extend far beyond the story itself.

Luffy’s path to becoming the Pirate King follows Roger’s monumental legacy, cementing Roger’s role as a guiding force in the saga.

Without him, the narrative of One Piece and its richly developed world of characters, lore, and storytelling would not exist, solidifying Roger as one of the most impactful characters in the shōnen genre.

The newest promotional video for One Piece Season 2 has been released, showcasing an engaging discussion between creator Eiichiro Oda and actor Iñaki Godoy, who portrays Luffy. Fans can expect the much-awaited second season to premiere in 2025.

This latest video offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes short look into Oda’s recent visit to the production set of the live-action adaptation in Cape Town, South Africa.

The trip marked the manga creator’s first opportunity to experience the detailed props, expansive sets, and cast interactions in person. During the featurette, Godoy demonstrates his commitment to the role by conversing entirely in Japanese with Oda.

The young actor began learning the language earlier this year, specifically to communicate with the creator in his native tongue. Reflecting on the upcoming season, Oda shared his appreciation for the team’s dedication to faithfully bringing his manga to life.

Before the video’s debut, Oda addressed fans directly through a written message, sharing his excitement about the progress of Season 2.

He confidently predicted that the new season would surpass the first, expressing his satisfaction with the casting choices. “I met not only the returning cast but also the new members.

While my selections were initially based on photos and videos, seeing them in person confirmed they were perfect,” he stated. Oda also praised the positive atmosphere on set, promising that the next chapter will exceed expectations.

The live-action adaptation of One Piece is helmed by executive producers Matt Owens and Joe Tracz, who also serve as showrunners. Alongside Godoy, the cast includes Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp.

Following their initial journey in Season 1, Luffy and his crew will venture into the Grand Line, encountering formidable foes and new allies.

The upcoming season will also introduce the Straw Hats’ sixth member and ship doctor, Tony Tony Chopper, though the actor voicing the character remains undisclosed.

Luffy’s Journey as Captain Will Take Center Stage

In earlier remarks, Owens hinted at the core theme for Season 2, emphasizing the evolving role of leadership. He highlighted that Luffy’s challenges as a captain would be pivotal as the crew embarks on their next adventure.

“The central focus is the responsibility and hurdles of leadership,” Owens explained. “With his crew assembled and their journey into the Grand Line underway, Luffy faces unique challenges that come with his new role. This theme will also intertwine with other character arcs and stories yet to be revealed.”

Streaming for One Piece is currently available on Netflix.

Exclusive New Release Marks Boa Hancock’s Celebration of the Year of the Snake

As 2025 approaches, fans of the One Piece franchise can look forward to celebrating the Year of the Snake in the Zodiac. To honor this occasion, a One Piece store is offering fans an exciting prize featuring one of the series’ beloved characters.

An official One Piece shopping center will provide postcards of Boa Hancock to customers—though they come at a cost. Available for a limited time while supplies last, this promotion highlights the perfect character for the celebration.

With grand plans for the brand in the upcoming year, this initiative serves as a fantastic way for fans to kick off 2025 on the right note—or should we say, the right scale. The Boa Hancock giveaway will take place at One Piece Mugiwara stores in Japan, showcasing an exclusive item that fans will surely appreciate.

Customers visiting the store will receive complimentary postcards featuring the esteemed honorary Straw Hat Crew member Boa Hancock, commemorating the Year of the Snake. To qualify for this offer, shoppers must spend 2,000 yen, equivalent to just under US$13.

One of the postcards showcases a striking image of Boa Hancock in a dynamic pose, perfectly aligning with her title as the Snake Princess. Given that her name is also derived from a type of snake, it’s fitting that she represents the Year of the Snake rather than characters like Nami or Luffy.

While the postcards will be available until supplies run out, the exact quantity has not been disclosed. Fans wishing to collect multiple cards must complete separate transactions exceeding 2,000 yen.

The campaign launches on January 1, 2025, ushering in the New Year with excitement. Additionally, customers who make purchases online can also receive these postcards, provided their orders meet the spending requirements.

One Piece continues to stand as one of the largest anime and manga brands in the 2020s, and 2025 will also see the return of Netflix’s successful live-action adaptation of the series, although the casting for Boa Hancock remains unannounced.

Since its serialization began in 2014, Rascal Does Not Dream has remained a remarkably successful light novel series, culminating in its conclusion in October 2024. Fans now have the exciting opportunity to watch the anime adaptation on one of the largest streaming platforms.

In 2025, Hulu will premiere Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, marking the first anime adaptation in the franchise. This release coincides with the debut of the next anime season. With the source material recently completed, it’s an ideal time for both new viewers and longtime fans to catch up on the series.

This was followed by a movie the next year, along with adaptations for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid, which featured the same voice cast as the anime series and covered additional light novel volumes.

Since its original premiere on January 3, 2024, Hulu, along with Disney+, has been the only major streaming platform in the U.S. to offer the show.

Initially based on a light novel series by Keiso, Ishura is an action-fantasy narrative that centers on a group of demigods known as “Shuras,” who are competing for power in the wake of the Demon King’s defeat.

Among the challengers are formidable swordsmen, gladiators, mages, and various “heroes,” each vying for the title of “True Hero.” As they battle for supremacy, they must also confront their internal conflicts and distorted moralities.

Renowned for its intricate world-building and exploration of dark themes such as power, corruption, and moral ambiguity, Keiso’s light novel series garnered a loyal following and eventually inspired a manga adaptation, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Magazine since 2021.

The anime adaptation of Ishura was produced through a collaboration between animation studios Passione (known for High School DxD: Hero and Citrus) and Sanzigen (famous for Arslan Senki and Black Rock Shooter), with Season 1 launching in January 2024.

Critics have offered mixed reviews regarding the series; while many commend its battle sequences and strong opening, others argue that the complex ensemble cast and a decline in world-building in later episodes make the narrative challenging to follow.

Although Ishura is geared toward an older audience that enjoys darker action themes, it has clearly established a dedicated fan base on Hulu, attracting both original fans and new viewers alike. Currently, Ishura Season 1 is available for exclusive streaming on Hulu/Disney+, with Season 2 set to premiere on January 8, 2025.

Yu-Gi-Oh Has A Big Reveal Coming In April 2025

Next year, fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise can look forward to a delightful surprise, as a remaster of a beloved series has been announced for April 2025. This release will coincide with the celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, marking the original show’s debut in late 2004.

The beloved Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, which aired from October 2004 to March 2008, is set to receive a remastered edition that will be broadcast on TV Tokyo this April, though details regarding international airing remain unconfirmed.

KENN, the voice actor who portrayed series protagonist Jaden Yuki, expressed his excitement about the announcement: “Thanks to everyone supporting me, I’ve been able to consistently face and play Jaden Yuki for almost half my life.

As I gain more experience, the more I realize how incredible all the staff and cast were at the time! Congratulations again on the remastered version! Gotcha! That was a fun duel!”

He also had a message for the fans, stating, “Yugi Muto and friends built Duel Monsters. This has a different charm from the first generation; there are lots of laughs, tears, and variety in the world of GX, so please enjoy it!”

On December 20, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Yu-Gi-Oh! shared the news, and the popular anime streaming platform Crunchyroll followed with additional updates about the franchise.

They announced that a monthly continuation of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME: THE CHRONICLES promotional anime shorts will start airing on the official YouTube channel during the same month.

Currently, Crunchyroll streams all 180 episodes of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime series, describing it as follows: “Set several years after the previous Yu-Gi-Oh! series, GX follows a new generation of duelists at the prestigious Duel Academy—a highly competitive boarding school where pencils and books have been replaced by Duel Disks and monster cards!

Still, it’s not just about making the grade for these up-and-coming students – it’s about becoming the next King of Games!” It remains to be seen whether the newly remastered episodes of GX will be available on the streaming platform in the future.
